Politics can be one sticky game.

With the expiration of the Bush tax cuts for the wealthiest 2% of the country, the Democratic Party is looking for a new gameplan to ensure a victory in the upcoming House and Senate Midterm Elections this coming November. They’re heading into a really tough situation against the opposing Republicans, many of whom are projected to take seats in the House and Senate away from the Dems. This is all thanks to anti-incumbent fever among the people, many of whom are still waiting for President Barack Obama to deliver on the promises he made when he got elected 2 years ago during a worsening economy. The Dems also have to deal with the anti-establishment rage that the GOP and the Tea Party have been fueling with the help of the Fox News Channel. Right now, the Democrats are trying to find any way possible to win in November.

If I may, I would like to offer the Dems some advice. In fact, I’d like to offer more than just advice…I would like to give a blueprint on how the Democratic Party can win every election from now until kingdom come, and literally crush the Republican Party in the process.

It’s actually very elementary, really.

JOBS, JOBS, JOBS
The Republicans are using the lack of job growth since Obama’s election against him, while claiming excessive government spending, higher taxes, and a move towards socialism. Meanwhile, the Repubs keep on filibustering (stalling) Congressional bills which would increase jobs and extend unemployment benefits while blaming Obama for the stalemate. The reason why the GOP keeps getting their way (despite having lost their last major elections terribly) is because we have traitorous Benedict Arnold Democrats who keep voting with the GOP on such issues. The lack of unity really hurts the Dems, especially since the GOP stands firmly united on blocking everything the Dems try to do. It’s time to unite the party and create more jobs. If the Republicans insist on blocking every bill, then it’s time for the Dems to force them through using the process of reconciliation.

CLEAN ENERGY LEGISLATION
This is one of the main reasons why the Democrats took the White House and acquired a super-majority in the Senate and the House of Representatives in the first place. They have to move full-speed ahead with preserving our natural resources and ending our dependence on outdated forms of fuel. For those who claim that now is not the time for clean energy and green jobs, we now have the BP Oil Spill to remind us just what we have to lose by waiting around.

STRENGTHEN THE HEALTH CARE REFORM AND FINANCIAL REGULATION BILLS
Appeasement never ends well. A perfect example of that statement would be the amount of concessions President Obama and the Democrats made to the party not in power just so they could get their health care and financial reform bills through Congress onto the President’s desk to sign. The end result: Watered down bills which deliver only cosmetic improvements while continuing to benefit only the big corporations and further putting us – the American voters – in harm’s way. It’s time to stand up to the “Party of No” (or “Party of HELL No” depending on who you’re asking) and get the right versions of these groundbreaking bills into action. And for each time the Republicans try to filibuster in the future, use reconciliation to shut them down.

DISASSOCIATE FROM FEMINISM, ATHEISM, & GAY RIGHTS
Not only are these all frivolous issues, but they are also what creates the bad taste that liberals and progressives leave in people’s mouths. Feminism encompasses excessive benefits, entitlements, and a general regard for one gender only (which is unconstitutional). Atheism – or, more specifically, hatred and intolerance towards religion – encompasses a fringe of our society much worse than that of the Tea Party and therefore makes it and its enablers no better. Gay marriage worsens a general disconnect between the genders and is a complete mockery and destroyer of the traditional family, not to mention the fact that it needlessly brings up the issue of sexuality amongst young children who need not know about such a thing yet. At best, all of these deviant cultures are much too controversial and generally disliked to give the Democratic Party a good name amongst independents and undecided voters (especially in such a time of uncertainty), and as such, should be immediately jettisoned if the Democrats hope for their continued survival in the political world.

SUPPORT RELIGIOUS & FAMILY VALUES
This is the cornerstone of the Republicans’ credibility in politics. They can easily paint the Democrats as a bunch of radical, atheist lunatics out to destroy the fabric of our society. The GOP thrives off of a holier-than-thou personality. This is where the Dems need to outshine the Repubs. If Dems can defend religious and family values better than the Repubs can, then what will the GOP stand for? They will literally implode. There would be no more worthy issues for GOP to hold on to once the Dems take those few away from them. All the Repubs would have left are completely offensive views which would either permanently seal their fate or cause them to backtrack, admit wrongdoing, and/or play catch-up in order to stay politically relevant. The Democrats would forever stay on the offensive, and would ultimately never lose an election again. If that’s not enough of an incentive, there are also religious people who identify themselves as Democrats. Some Democrats actually do not support the idea of same-sex marriage. Democrats took a major hit in the polls soon after California’s Prop 8 was overturned, so there are voters out there who still have traditional values. Liberals would do very well not to alienate those voters. Once again, unity is key here.

LEGALIZE MARIJUANA
No matter what your views about marijuana are, the fact still remains that the possibility of its legalization will create the largest influx of first-time voters in this country’s history. The taxation of marijuana will ultimately help the economy. If the Democrats can find a way to make this issue their own, they will own the younger generations of voters for many years to come. In fact, they will acquire enough votes to completely offset the votes they receive against them. Or they could just do the same thing they did for the gay rights agenda: Label anyone who opposes it a bigot.

SUPPORT MEN’S RIGHTS
The Men’s Rights Movement is gaining ground in a very rapid way. More and more men and women are standing up to the evils of feminism. This topic is already dominating the internet on sites such as YouTube, Ustream, and BlogTalkRadio. Soon, it will dominate the internet – a huge market. The conservatives already know this, and are making their move to put their stamp on Men’s Rights. It doesn’t help that feminism’s largest supporters to date happen to be the Democratic Party. The Dems will soon regret their support of feminist-induced misandry, as well as the anti-male laws they have written and passed under threats from women’s groups to block the female vote. If the Dems can take the Men’s Rights Movement under their wing, earn the trust of men everywhere, repeal or fix all of their misandric laws, and do more to show men that they haven’t been reduced to second-class citizens, it will give many more voters – male and female alike – the confidence they need to vote Democrat for the rest of eternity.

The reason I wish to see a Democratic victory is because I really do not wish to reinstate the party that got us into war, ruined our economy with wasteful spending, gave tax cuts only for the incredibly wealthy, and did everything they possibly could to keep things from getting any better. Let’s not be so quick to forget just what George W. Bush did to us all. But at the same time, let’s not let the Democrats stay in power simply for being the lesser of two evils. As Americans, we deserve better than that. That’s why it’s time to finally start behaving that way by being equally tough on both parties. This way, we can avoid another sticky situation.

An interesting thing came up on Twitter today. Apparently, there’s a term going around called “black male privilege“. Simply put, it’s the notion that too much attention has been focused on the struggles of black men (excuse me while I gag) and that black women are being left out as a result. Really?? (Check the picture to the right for a “privileged” black male.)

In response to such a ludicrous notion, Twitter user @TKOEd posted a link to a blog entry that he wrote:

If 99% of things about so-called Black male privilege can be addressed by calling it male privilege & we get the bonus of not having a polarizing discussion of whether or not BMP exists than why not do that? What’s the benefit to calling it Black male privilege? I don’t see any. I don’t get the investment in the notion.

I would love to be enlightened in a serious way. I have no problem saying I’m wrong, but this is a subject that you really need to come with it to get to me on. In plain words that can be easily understood. Because honestly, a lot of the academic reasons for the “necessity” of calling it BMP feels like intellectual masturbation and not an actual wish to change our communities & society. #noshots to anyone I know personally.

That was a nice start, but I’d like to take it a step further.

This is the manifestation of feminism, female victimhood & entitlement, and – most importantly – misandry into the black community. Just like the gender wage gap myth and every other feminist lie, this lists men as the cause of women’s problems. The very notion that black men’s struggles have been paid too much attention is completely absurd. I honestly can’t believe that they’re trying to place this guilt trip on black men, especially after the murders of the two “privileged” black males Sean Bell and Oscar Grant III (not to mention what didn’t happen to each of their slayers). In a world where black women are getting more jobs, college degrees, and corporate executive positions than black men (mostly due to Affirmative Action mixed with political correctness) while black men suffer from literally every single known cause of death on a much higher scale than black women, it amazes me that some black women will still try to find a way to play victim with us as the aggressor while demanding more free benefits, entitlements, court settlements, child support, alimony, and government programs. Maybe they should find a way to stop having so many out-of-wedlock children first.

And of course, the white supremacists‘ media and government will find a way to fuel the fire. In fact, this is not only feminism but also subtle, strategically placed racism. This is meant to insinuate that black men and our struggles are not important and are a burden to society. What better way to get this point across than by getting black women on board? Not all white people are evil, but the ones who are evil – specifically, the ones with the most money, power, and influence in this country – have been successfully turning our women against us by telling them exactly what they like to hear. The worst part of all is that the evils further do damage to black men than by having black male authors and bloggers push this message. Yes, that’s right: The main people pushing this agenda against black men are, in fact, black men. Uncle Toms to be precise. Run a Google search for L’Heureux Dumi Lewis and Jewel Woods, and I’ll show you two male vaginas. I am not fooled by these plants. I don’t know who sent them, but they should both be ashamed to be black, even more ashamed to be men, and ashamed most of all to be black men.

Let me be perfectly clear: Black people have no privileges or rights in this world; especially not the men. Part of that is our own fault, but most of it is due to a society working against us. False, negative propaganda such as the idea of “black male privilege” is more than just intellectual masturbation. This is rape, and we’re doing it to ourselves. It’s all a distraction, and its main intent is to divide us even further by having us point fingers at each other. Both genders of black people have it bad, so why are we so busy arguing over who’s had it the worst? This makes us all look even weaker. It’s completely disgraceful, and I will not entertain any further discussion on the matter. Let’s let this “black male privilege” thing die already and focus on actually finding positive solutions for the black community, starting with more black-owned businesses and corporations. It’s a good start.

Dear Motorola:

You’ve got to be kidding me. Locking the bootloader? You’ve turned into Apple.

I am considering boycotting all products from Motorola and telling everyone else I know to do the same. This is an outrage. Have you forgotten the Open Handset Alliance? Alienating customers isn’t a good idea.

Motorola’s a great company and you guys have been around a long time. I’ve gained a lot of respect for you and I want to see you succeed. But you have to get it together. Such bad decisions were the reason you almost went bankrupt before you entered your partnership with Google. Android is all about open-source; that’s the heart of our movement. Don’t turn your back on what made your near-failure into a raging success. Unlock the bootloaders on Droid X and all future devices. The customers have the right to choose how they want their phones to work. I appreciate you trying to protect our data, but we don’t mind the risk. We have enough Big Brothers.

Thanks for all your wonderful devices and services. I hope you make the right decision this time.

A loyal fan who hopes to remain one,

JC

_________

Slight addendum (7.19.10): MY LETTER TO THE OPEN HANDSET ALLIANCE REGARDING MOTOROLA’S ACTIONS

Dear Open Handset Alliance,

I hereby ask that Motorola be removed from the OHA due to their locking down of the bootloader on the Droid X. Such activity is in direct violation of the Open Handset Alliance. We do not need another Big Brother making decisions over what we customers choose to do with our purchased property. We are smart enough to choose which ROM suits our phone the best. If Motorola continues in rolling backwards, that is most certainly not open-source. Hopefully your action will make them realize just how badly they are treating their customers. We appreciate all of your help in resolving this matter.

Sincerely yours,

JC

I had promised this article a while ago, but so much more material is given to me day after day that I have to take everything into account. Word to Rand Paul and Sharron Angle. But what better day than Independence Day to expose the Tea Party for what it really is?

Taxes, taxes, taxes. Socialist Obama (who wasn’t born in this country and still hasn’t shown us his birth certificate) has a communist plot to destroy this nation!! This is exactly what Hitler did in Nazi Germany! GASP!! We must rise up and fight for our rights! Take back our country! Gather your armies!

All theatrics aside, I don’t think I have to go into detail about who the Tea Party is and what they’re for. We all hate big government, but why no protests against George W. Bush’s big government? We hate seeing high taxes, but Bush hella raised taxes. Those teabagger folks (and you gotta keep a straight face calling them that) were silent as hell back then. But now that we have the first African-American president, all of a sudden it’s a problem? What about the laws surrounding marriage and divorce, specifically child support and alimony? Those are examples of government at its biggest. Futhermore, since the Tea Party seems to be so against people getting free government handouts, why no talk about Nadya Suleman (the “OctoMom”) pimping the welfare system?

Let’s just cut to the chase: The Tea Party are nothing more than a bunch of people who follow political propaganda planted into the media by big corporations. You know, the ones who got us into this mess. The multi-billionaires who don’t pay their taxes. All the teabaggers do is troll endlessly against people who oppose the special interests. Government spending is the least of our worries. The rich elite have special loopholes that aren’t available to the rest of us. Those loopholes enable them to get around paying their taxes. And guess who gets stuck with the bill? You guessed it, the rest of us. That’s why our taxes get high. It’s not (entirely) Obama’s fault. When our state budgets get slashed (especially in the education departments), look at who’s sitting on huge wads of cash while our economy suffers. Those people have lots of money, clout, and MEDIA INFLUENCE. Cue the Fox News Channel. Cue wingnut radio pundits like Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and Glenn Beck pimping people’s ignorance and blind anger. When something is repeated over and over and over in the media, people tend to believe what’s said loudly enough. The rich bigwigs couldn’t be happier. Not to mention the fat paychecks these fear-mongerers get from their ever-so-paranoid followers. Then their sponsors sell them gold.

The Tea Party folks are being used and they don’t even realize it. When Wall Street steals money from us, when BP spills oil into our oceans, when racist politicians draft discriminatory legislation in states like Arizona, Texas, and Oklahoma, when the greedy corporations steal money from us, they put that money into the political machine that raises anger in the wrong direction. That’s why you get people who would rather defend Wall Street and BP than the poor people who are suffering every day.

The teabaggers say big government is so bad. They don’t want to see redistribution of wealth. They defend free market laissez-faire capitalism. To translate: Rather than big government, they want to see big corporations. They’re against socialism, but they love corporatism. Don’t raise taxes for anyone! (Especially not the rich!) As far as the ones suffering from a poor economy, who need more government programs (such as unemployment benefits), let them suffer! It’s socialistic to help them!

I could go on and on about the Tea Party, but I just wanted to make a clear point here. It’s time we learn what the Tea Party is really about. The more we learn about them, the more we see how irrelevant they really are. And the people are finally starting to realize it. Do not feed the trolls.

To help illustrate my point, check out this AT&T commercial advertising the Motorola Backflip:

I’ll keep this one short and simple: Any grown man who takes this much of an interest in fashion is suspect.

Don’t get me wrong; it’s good for a man to take interest in his appearance and personal hygeine. In fact, ladies find that sort of attention to detail attractive. But don’t let the media fool you. They only encourage this type of male vanity in order to sell more product to them. What the corporate sponsors don’t want you to know is that you really don’t need what they’re selling. As long as your clothes and shoes are clean and your haircut’s fresh, that’s really all you need right there. Keep it simple, stupid. Females like confidence.

There’s no need for spending extra money on name brands either. All that does is make the companies selling those name brands richer, therefore encouraging them to keep on overpricing their products (for example: Michael Jordan‘s luxury basketball shoes). Quite frankly, any female who would deny a man the privilege of dating her simply because he doesn’t wear name-brand items is – in my honest opinion – a superficial buffoon. You can chase after girls like that if you want but I sure wouldn’t.

Let me sum this up in the nicest way I possibly can: Fashion is for women and gay men. For a man to be more vain than his girlfriend should bring about questions of his sexual orientation.

Seriously, fellas. Man up. You’re making us all look bad out there. Let’s leave all the feminine tendencies to the male cast of Jersey Shore.

[Last edit: 4.1.10]

I’ll try to make this as chronological as possible:

1. Bailouts. Enough said. Not to mention appointing Timothy Geithner as Treasury Secretary knowing good and well how connected he is to the people on Wall Street who are robbing us of our money.

2. Taking the police’s side in the senseless murder of Sean Bell, and saying nothing about Oscar Grant III or the disturbing pattern of young black males being killed by police.

3. Protecting Bush and Cheney from being prosecuted for war crimes such as torture and warrant-less wiretapping.

4. The Council For Women & Girls. Is there one for men and/or boys? You guessed it: nope. No time for ending police brutality against black men, but all the time in the world for feminism and chivalry. Do a search for Valerie Solanas on Google.

5. Blaming men for single motherhood on Father’s Day. (See #4, especially the last sentence.)

6. Failing to use the arrest of Professor Henry Louis Gates to shine light on excessive police force against minorities. (See #2.) Obama was off to one hell of a good start when he said that the police acted stupidly, but eventually caved into pressure way too easily and tried to play things off with a so-called “beer summit”. How’s that going to prevent things like that from happening again?

7. Creating Fatherhood.gov to instruct men on how to be fathers, without doing the same for potential mothers. (See #4 again, especially the last sentence.)

8. Eliminating the public option from the health care reform bill. The bill was already unpopular with the right, but removing the public option made it unpopular with the left.

9. Increasing troop levels in Afghanistan. I thought Bush was out of office.

10. Offshore drilling for oil. EDIT: Drilling for oil period. Drill, baby, drill. Was that a Sarah Palin quote? You betcha. Whatever happened to the promise of clean energy and reducing our dependency on foreign oil?

—

Barack Obama sure knows how to make great speeches, but when it comes to fulfilling his campaign promises, that’s a whole ‘nother story. Let’s see what more “change” we have to look forward to in the weeks, months, and years to come. Yes, we can.

I created this article on March 31, 2010, the day before April Fool’s Day, to remind everyone that we are the fools.

I got my Motorola Droid from Verizon the day after its much-hyped debut. Long story short, it changed my life.

One thing about Google‘s Android OS: It’ll make a tech geek out of anybody. When Google unveiled the Nexus One just three months later, I was one of millions of Droid owners scared that Nexus’ Android 2.1 system would outdate the 5-month-old Droid’s 2.0.1 system. Even worse, Android 2.1 flaunts live animated wallpapers, enhanced battery life, 3-D photo gallery, pinch-to-zoom multitouch functions that iPhone users enjoy, voice recognition on every text field, and so much more! Damn cell phone companies; always trying to get us to blow money on the next hot thing! Luckily, Verizon came out with a statement assuring us Droids that an OTA upgrade was on its way. Yippee!

Which brings us to this weekend, the promised date of the Android 2.1 rollouts for Verizon’s Motorola Droid. It was supposed to go like this:

Thursday 3.18
12noon EDT – 1,000 users get update
Friday 3.19
Midnight EDT- 1,000 more users get update
Sunday 3.21
Midnight EDT – 20,000 users get update, recurring every 12 hours until all users are updated.

It’s now Sunday, March 21 at 9:30pm on the West Coast (Monday, March 22 at 12:30am on the East). My Droid is still running Android 2.0.1. The 2.1 rollout has been delayed due to a glitch with the company doing the rollouts.

FML.

If I may offer the folks over at Big Red (Verizon Wireless) a little advice, please make sure that you handle these rollouts a little more professionally in the future. A little planning doesn’t hurt. And don’t announce dates unless they’re for certain. Don’t even let such details leak. Glitches that might not be your fault end up making you guys look bad just the same.

All in all, I still own one of the best smartphones on the market, with or without Android 2.1. Even sweeter, my phone kicks iPhone’s ASS! (Don’t try to deny it, fanboys.) Of course, if I really wanted to be a daring tech nerd, I could easily root my phone with one of the many ROMs devised by your friendly hackers. Of course, many of those are not exactly safe, and I’m not a huge fan of the possibility of bricking my phone, seeing how that voids the warranty. I think it’s best to just wait for Google.

Once Adobe Flash 10.1 comes out exclusively on Motorola Droid and Google Nexus One this summer, it’s GAME OVER!

In the meantime, hurry up with that 2.1, Big Red!

219 in favor. 212 opposed. Obama’s healthcare legislation is finally here.

So what now?

With no public option, is this really the HCR bill we really want? Now that the private insurers are going to get millions of new customers (against their will), how are we not to think that a monopoly is taking place? With all the concessions that we made to the Republican Party, how do we know that the GOP hasn’t magically slipped their bill in place of the one we were promised.

And how come the President who promised us healthcare reform with a public option now denying that he ever promised any public option whatsoever?

Well, we elected Barack Obama in a landslide. We at least owe him a chance to show us what he has to offer.

Besides, Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh threatened to leave the country once HCR is passed. I say we help those neo-cons pack their bags. (Even though every other country has their dreaded “socialist” universal healthcare.)
